womb healing
my holisitic health jounrney I’ve never written a piece like this so for the sake of my lack of understanding and fear of being wrong - disclaimer!!! I’m not a doctor and this is not medical advice, just a girl sharing her experiences. I started learning about holistic health and herbalism in college but really started diving deeper into my practice in 2021. What started as listening to podcasts from girls I followed online morphed into one of my biggest passions and what I h

the opposite of fire
the good, the bad, and the sweet spot inbetween All my life I have felt ~everything~ deeply. I don't know any other way than to have every emotion wash over me completely. My mind has a million tabs open, synapses firing, connections being made, conclusions being jumped too, a visceral, physical reaction to the emotion. It has made my life rich and magical and full. To feel giddy in a way that brings me back to being 6. To experience unbridled joy, creativity and LOVE. Oh to

from backup dancer to the lead role
speaking up, imposter syndrome, authenticity When does life begin to feel authentic? Is there a moment when I put my work into the world and think “yes this is totally, authentically me?” Will I feel imposter syndrome forever? Imposter syndrome, the constant feeling that you are pretending to be something you’re not (and never will be), doing a horrible job and everyone in your professional life knows you are a failure and a fraud. At some point it morphs into inauthenticity,

the universally agreed upon hardest part of travel
saying hello and goodbye You land in a new country and suddenly it hits you like a train- “ Oh my God, I did it. I left my home and my comfort and have just landed in a brand new place I’ve never been before.” You don’t speak the language and your knowledge of public transport is limited to Google searches and prayer. Somehow you make it to your hostel. A quick peek at your passport and $7 a night, you are shown to your bunkbed. Blessed by the angels you have a bottom bunk an

falling in love and the (nearly) inevitable heartbreak that will (almost certainly) follow
being bi in a straight world I’m excited to fall in love again and again. It’s been years since I’ve fallen in love with a man and months since I’ve fallen in with a woman. They are such different kinds of love. Falling in love with a woman is like sipping from an ice cold glass of water you discovered on your bedside table at 3am. It’s easy, falling in love with your best friend. It feels natural and comforting and safe. Consciously, though not the first time, I fell in love

cambodia- in sickness and in health
fish hooks, dengue fever and tequila as my savior Let me tell you about the wildest two weeks of my entire life where I nearly died (an exaggeration? maybe). It started in Koh Rong Sanolem, a gorgeous little island in Cambodia. Shay and I arrived and spent three days in paradise. Swimming in crystal clear waters, dancing and flowing on the beach, partying every night. On the fourth day on the island, we begin our 30 minute trek the same stretch of beach we’d been frequenting

22-29
Tattoos stretch and grow with age. The lines aren’t as crisp, their edges blurry, softened by age. I love my aging skin and aging tattoos. Oh the stories they have to tell. All from different states, countries and continents. Traveling far and wide through heat and blistering cold. On planes and boats and buses- so so many buses. My tattoos tell the story of me. Each one means something to me but not in the way you think. My stick of butter means as much as my quote “she is a

trust in romania
Romania, for me, is best described as trust. I trusted so many people and in turn, was given a lifetime of memories. Going, in the first place, was a last-minute decision because I had one week open before heading to Malta. I arrived in Bucharest, the capital which is full of Soviet era architecture and beautiful pockets of greenery. A day or so in I made a friend at my hostel and we decided to go to the opera together; neither of us has been. I felt like real life Cinderel

dream journal- a poem
My journal has a dream It pulses and vibrates to get heard To get read To be written My journal has a dream It tells me about it Through its mouth to my hand Hand to brain Brain to paper My journal has a dream So much heart to give My journal loves My journal laughs It screams out in agony in which there is no relief It wobbles in worry when all it can do is weep It melts and shlumps up against a wall unable not to write any more words at all Alas my journal has a dream No be

what even is age/
What even is age? Why are there timelines? Who decided what these milestones are supposed to be set at? I’m 29 and I plan on starting my travel journey/the rest of my life when I turn 30. And in some small way, I feel too old. I should add that I have no interest in working forever, having any type of regular career or settling down in a suburban area with a white picket fence and 2.5 kids. I do want kids one day but not in the states and no public school (a story for another

best bites ever: austin edition
I lived in Austin in 2024 and visited in 2021. Some of the best bites I’ve ever eaten came from Austin. Terry Blacks When I moved to Austin, I wasn’t eating beef. I stopped eating it in college for about four years. Terry Blacks is the best bbq (in my opinion) in all of the western world. Trying the brisket here made me start eating beef. It literally changed my life. One time, while standing in line, I met a gentleman who flew in from Dallas and was flying back in a couple h

tattoos in albania
I got my first tattoo at the age of 22 in Tirana, Albania and the second a mere 3 days later. I’m going to tell you the story about those tattoos. The first came from a place of frustration. I had been backpacking Eastern Europe for two months at this point and was visiting the capital city of Albania. I arrived at an incredible hostel, filled with partying and laughter and friendship. It was shaping up to be maybe my favorite stay on this trip, until I went to bed. I was to

dreams, dreams, dreams
I want to write a travel blog and start a podcast. About travel and my life. Travel is intrinsically linked to me and my soul. This physical vessel craves travel. Which means my soul and travel are linked forever. Exploring new places, taking in the plants and nature and animals and flowers and buildings and transportation. Meeting people and hearing them speak their native tongue. Eating the local food and tasting ingredients I don’t know the names of and savoring food I’ve
